This calculator will calculate the size of acoustic louvre required around an air-conditioning unit based on a given noise requirement. The calculated louvre area includes the exhaust and intake, and assumes a maximum pressure allowance of 20Pa for PUMY and 60Pa for PUHY/PURY units. It should be noted that the PUMY S units can handle 30Pa and the PUHY/PURY units range from 0Pa to 80Pa and therefore alternative configurations are possible.

To operate the calculator, first select the type of air-conditioning unit, then specify the required noise limit and the distance to the assessment location. The calculator will then provide a recommended louvre type and area to acheive the required level of attenuation.
